The Orville Seasons 2 DVD The movie dealt with plenty of jokes on the type of Sci-Fi Star Trek delivered it’s tropes and cliches (notably the “Red Shirt” cliche, an unknown character who dies early in the episode to prove the threat is real) and seemed to be sort-of mocking the fanbase with the aliens who took the thing seriously, The Orville Seasons 2 as well as human fans taking it seriously, but in the end plays out as more of a “love letter” to fans of the show as, ultimately, they play a huge role in the actors succeeding in their mission.
